Established in 1975, our family-run business is now in it's third generation and still going strong.
We pride ourselves on both the quality of our products and the quality of our service - with repeat customers and new enquiries based on word-of-mouth.
"METRO was started in 1975 by my mother and my late father, serving the people of Barnsley, Sheffield and surrounding areas. I joined the business a couple of years later, closely followed by my husband, and together we took over the running of the business in 1990 when my parents retired.
Today, I run the business along with our son and his partner, along with our dedicated team, some of whom have been with us from the very early days.
Over the decades, we have gone through many changes, which has seen the business go from producing traditional garden sheds, to summerhouses and more elaborate structures/buildings as trends change and demand for leisure buildings becomes ever greater.
At Metro we pride ourselves on offering a quality product and service at a realistic price, and over the years have built up a reputation second to none."

Our felt tiled roofs are lined with a breathable membrane before each felt tile is tacked on to the roof. These come in a choice of colours shown here.
To extend the life of your building we can provide a rubber roof at an extra cost, which consists of one sheet of approx. 2mm rubber, glued down rather than nailed down, which is much more resistant to the great British weather and has a life expectancy of 50+ years
Our standard felt is a Mineral green heavy duty 48kg polyester felt which is laid in strips and nailed down.
We recommend that you replace your shed felt at least every five years, but this may be shorter or longer due to adverse weather conditions and exposure.

Our buildings come with 3mm horticultural glass as standard unless otherwise stated.
Our toughened glass is 3-4mm safety glass and conforms to BS EN standards. This can be added to any building, priced upon request.
Our playhouses are fitted with Perspex windows for extra safety.
